WooCommerce and WordPress

WooCommerce and WordPress developer for custom builds and rescue work.

I build and fix WooCommerce stores and WordPress sites: custom themes and plugins, Elementor and Gutenberg builds, and rescue work when an update breaks something. I extend third-party plugins without editing their core files, so updates stay safe.

What I do

The kinds of work I do on this, with examples from real projects.

  1. Custom themes and plugins

Themes and plugins written for your site when an off-the-shelf one does not fit. A WooCommerce SmartCollection plugin is one I have built.

  2. Elementor and Gutenberg builds

Landing, course and sales pages in Elementor Pro, and forms with WPForms, Elementor forms and Typeform.

  3. Rescue work

When an update breaks something, I debug the plugin and theme conflict and fix it on a staging copy first. I do not edit third-party plugin core files, so updates stay safe.

  4. Audits and rebuild plans

For large WooCommerce builds: a written audit of the theme, plugins, hosting and integrations, and a plan for a clean rebuild. I did this for HotTub.com.

  5. Migrations

Wix to WordPress migrations with membership integrations, and hosting migrations with staging and production workflows, DNS and SSL.

  6. Ongoing maintenance

Long-term WooCommerce maintenance and monthly support. I have worked with WP Engine, SiteGround, AWS, DigitalOcean, and cPanel and VPS setups.

HotTub.com

A large WooCommerce site whose pricing, sale and discount logic had grown hard to change. I audited all of it, wrote the plan for a clean rebuild, and I'm building the new pricing system alongside the old one.

  • Audited the theme, plugins, hosting and integrations, and wrote the findings up for the team and the CEO.
  • Mapped how prices, sales and discounts flow from the product page through the cart to checkout.
  • Wrote a clean rebuild plan, and rebuilt the in-house plugins in a clean copy with a handbook and a test guide.
  • Designed a new pricing table with monthly finance payments, built beside the current one so the live site can roll back at once.

Dewitt Law Firm

I run web engineering for the firm's WordPress and Shopify sites: fixes, new pages, tracking, SEO and the daily work of keeping them stable.

  • WordPress development, theme and plugin work, landing and service pages.
  • Technical SEO: H1 corrections, Search Console issues, robots.txt and call-to-action improvements.
  • Analytics and tracking setup, speed and Core Web Vitals work.
  • Hosting support, migrations and production issue resolution.

Is this a fit?

An honest check before you write to me. If it is not a fit, I will say so and, where I can, point you to what is.

A good fit

  • A WooCommerce or WordPress site that has outgrown its original build
  • A site that broke after an update and needs someone to find the cause
  • A large WooCommerce build whose pricing, plugins or hosting nobody fully understands
  • An agency that needs a senior engineer behind its designs

Probably not a fit

  • A small brochure site that a page builder and a few settings can handle. I will tell you if that is the case.
  • A store that would suit another platform better. If Shopify fits your plans better, I will say so.

How a project starts

Most work begins the same way: something is slow, something broke after an update, or the checkout is losing people. I find the cause, fix it, and show you the before and after.

  1. Review

I look at the store, its theme and apps, and find what is causing the problem.

  2. Plan

You get a written list of what is wrong, in priority order, with an estimate for each item.

  3. Build

Changes are made on a staging copy, reviewed, and then released.

  4. Check and hand over

I measure again, send before and after numbers, and document what changed.

Who it suits

  • Shopify and Shopify Plus brands with a live store and real orders
  • WooCommerce and WordPress sites that have outgrown their build
  • Agencies that need a senior engineer behind their designs

The usual first step is a fixed-scope technical review plus the top-priority fixes, delivered in one to two weeks. Larger builds and ongoing work follow from there.

Common questions

The things people ask before they write. If yours is not here, ask it in the form.

Can you fix a site that broke after an update?

Yes, that is one of the things I do. I look for the conflict between the theme, the plugins and the update, fix it on a staging copy, and release the fix once it has been reviewed. Because I extend third-party plugins without editing their core files, the next update does not undo the work.

Do you edit plugin files directly?

No. I extend third-party plugins without editing their core files, so plugin updates stay safe.

Can you move my site from Wix to WordPress?

Yes. I have done Wix to WordPress migrations that included membership integrations. I start with a review of what the site does today, so the move begins from a clear list.

Do you offer ongoing maintenance?

Yes. I do long-term WooCommerce maintenance and monthly support, including plugin and theme conflict debugging, staging and production workflows, DNS and SSL.
