Shopify and Shopify Plus

Shopify developer for themes, features and fixes.

I build and fix Shopify and Shopify Plus stores: custom themes and sections on Online Store 2.0, features written in Liquid, and headless storefronts in React when a theme is not enough. I have owned the theme of a Shopify Plus store and led the developers working on it.

What I do

The kinds of work I do on this, with examples from real projects.

  1. Themes and sections

Custom themes and sections on Online Store 2.0, built from a Figma file, screenshots or a style guide.

  2. Features in Liquid

Things a theme cannot do on its own. I have built an Open Box upsell, a Shop Build section, predictive search with search ranking, and a product fitment wizard.

  3. Subscriptions and checkout rules

Bundle, checkout and Recharge plan validation on a Shopify Plus store.

  4. Headless storefronts

A React storefront when a theme is not enough. On Cosmo Together I worked on a headless activation flow and its API integrations.

  5. Catalog and inventory

Inventory updates by CSV and API, warehouse imports and vendor cleanup in the catalog.

  6. Leading the work

Code review, QA before each release and production support. On Cosmo Together I led a team of three developers.

Shopify Plus Sep 2025 to Jun 2026

Cosmo Together

I took over storefront engineering for a Shopify Plus store that sells the JrTrack smartwatch for kids, and led the three developers working on it.

  • Owned the Shopify Plus theme: custom sections and Online Store 2.0 templates for product, collection and landing pages.
  • Built the JrTrack 5 product and activation pages, plus collections and add-ons.
  • Set up Recharge subscriptions and checkout validation.
  • Worked on the headless activation flow and its API integrations.

Shopify Ongoing

Freedom Gorilla

A Shopify store with a wide product range. I built its theme and the custom features around search, filtering and upsells, and cleaned up how inventory is imported.

  • Theme development, including a custom Shop Build section.
  • Open Box upsell on product pages.
  • Predictive search and product filtering.
  • Swiper-based sliders for products and promotions.

Is this a fit?

An honest check before you write to me. If it is not a fit, I will say so and, where I can, point you to what is.

A good fit

  • A live store with real orders and a feature your theme or apps cannot do
  • A theme that has become hard to change, or pages that are slow because of the theme or too many apps
  • A brand or agency that needs a senior Shopify engineer to own the theme, review code and run QA
  • Subscriptions, bundles or checkout rules that need careful validation

Probably not a fit

  • A first store with no products yet. A Theme Store theme, set up with the editor, may be all you need for now.
  • A job a theme setting or a free app already does. I will tell you if that is the case.

How a project starts

Most work begins the same way: something is slow, something broke after an update, or the checkout is losing people. I find the cause, fix it, and show you the before and after.

  1. Review

I look at the store, its theme and apps, and find what is causing the problem.

  2. Plan

You get a written list of what is wrong, in priority order, with an estimate for each item.

  3. Build

Changes are made on a staging copy, reviewed, and then released.

  4. Check and hand over

I measure again, send before and after numbers, and document what changed.

Who it suits

  • Shopify and Shopify Plus brands with a live store and real orders
  • WooCommerce and WordPress sites that have outgrown their build
  • Agencies that need a senior engineer behind their designs

The usual first step is a fixed-scope technical review plus the top-priority fixes, delivered in one to two weeks. Larger builds and ongoing work follow from there.

Common questions

The things people ask before they write. If yours is not here, ask it in the form.

Do you work on Shopify Plus stores?

Yes. I owned the theme of a Shopify Plus store, Cosmo Together, from September 2025 to June 2026 and led the three developers working on it. The work covered the theme and Online Store 2.0 templates, Recharge subscriptions and checkout validation, GA4 and Tag Manager tracking, and performance work.

Can you work on a theme someone else built?

Yes. I start with a review of the theme and the installed apps, then send a written, prioritized list of what to change, with an estimate for each item. That tells us whether to keep building on the theme or replace parts of it.

What does a Shopify developer cost?

I do not list prices, because they depend on the scope. The usual first step is a fixed-scope technical review plus the top-priority fixes, delivered in one to two weeks, and every item in the plan has its own estimate.

Which time zone do you work in?

I am in Islamabad (UTC+5) and work with teams in the United States, Canada and Australia. I usually reply within one business day.
